HGT have adopted a holistic approach for the whole of Eswatini when planning the projects around the KMIII International airport. Any development around the airport is intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the development plan for the whole country.
A Special tax free economic zone is planned close to the airport. It is expected to attract large numbers of internal and external manufacturers attracted by the stable electricity prices, modern facilities easy import and export options via the airport and the benefits of Tax Free trading.
The construction of a new 600MWe thermal power station next to a re-vitalised Mpaka coal mine will provide Eswatini with a long-term power generation solution which will not only reduce the countrys dependence on its neighbours, but will also stabilise the price of electricity within the country.
To ensure the sucess of the airport, it is planned to build a new 'Smart City' nearby. The new city will provide for the recreational, entertainment and accommodation needs of tourists and travellers visiting the country.
Community projects growing profitable crops such as such as vegetables & medicinal hemp will be established.
Roads, pavements, water services, sewers, housing power and communications must all be implemented.
A small smart city is planned to be built near to the airport complete with all services and uttilities.
A 600MWe thermal power station will be located near to a re-opened Mpaka coal mine.
Lots of employment will be created in the city, airport, power station and coal mine for the new city dwellers.
